Soeurs de la Providence Our Commitments

Our mission to manifest the Providence of God and the compassion of Mary is exercised concretely through our commitments (which we refer to as our ministries) toward all categories of persons in need: youth, the sick, poor families, the aged, immigrants, drug addicts, the deaf, aids victims and others.

We are there to sooth and help the healing process in those who are afflicted, and to provide help and support when life's difficulties seem too hard to bear.

In a spirit of responsibility shared with the other members of the community, each sister channels her personal charism and talents toward the fulfillment of the community's mission.

Since our commitments are responses to many and diverse needs, it is possible for each sister to dedicate herself in an area where her talents and expertise can be best put to use.

The Sisters of Providence accomplish this beautiful mission in 9 countries: Canada, United States, Cameroon, Chili, Argentina, Haïti, Egypte, Philippines and El Salvador.

At this time in history two areas of concern also draw our attention: feminism and ecology. Through awareness and changed behaviors we can contribute to making this world a place of deeper respect for the rights of all and the protection of the planet's limited ressources.

Following in Emilie's footsteps, again today,
women throughout the world follow Christ.
